Freedom Comes With Its Limits

The time has come where Camila’s freedom to roam the house came to an end.

Maybe it was time after she somehow grabbed her can of formula from the nightstand, opened it, and took it upon herself to give the room a makeover in a blanket of Similac. Maybe it was time after we caught her trying to be all curious and attempting to see what was on the other side of the electricity outlets. The last straw was recently when she was trying to pull herself up and slipped only to end up banging her head on the way down.

I was at work the time it happened, so I got a phone call from Ashley explaining to me what had happened.

After a few minutes on the phone we came to a conclusion that the best options where to either buy new furniture that was baby proof, or for me to go to the storage unit we have and dig out the “baby jail” as I like to call it, to set up so she no longer has access to get into outlets or bang her head on something that she wasn’t supposed to be on.

After I clock out from work I make my way to the storage unit dreading the thought of having to go through all our belongings and take them out one by one, just to get the baby jail. I, for whatever reason thought at the time it would be a good idea to place the fence all the way in the back of the unit out of the way because she wouldn’t be needing it for a long time. Well joke was on me because Camila is close to walking at almost 8 months and I had to move couches by myself.

Lets fast forward about 2 hours to when I get home and have unloaded them. I’m finally inside. I made it. now the easy part. All I have to do is unfold the fence and put her inside with all her toys and BOOM, home free!

At first I thought she would hate it and start to scream at the top of her lungs because she likes to roam around but she transitioned just fine. She was drowning in a sea of her toys and plush animals that she had even forgotten that she had. Cami was having a blast!

Every so often she would stand at the gate with only her eyes peeking over looking at me with eyes that sad “Come play with me” look. Wanting to please my little princess I of course jump into the play pen with her and mind you this is definately not adult sized so I’m kissing my knee caps while playing toys with Cami.

She started getting all clingy with me so we sat there and watched a movie on Netflix to pass some time.

The next step is walking and I have no clue how we are going to contain the little monster when that time comes.
